To the DFW KJ Alliance Members,

Greetings!

As you newly elected President, I would like to take a moment to say “Thanks” to all for the opportunity. I look forward to working with that I feel is a very determined and motivated group of officers. The ideas that have been voiced so far together with new ideas and suggestions from the Alliance as a whole will lead us to what I believe is an exciting and positive direction. 

Over the next 2 years, the officers and I are committed to the positive direction of the Alliance and it’s members. Our commitment will be to the improvement of the Karaoke business, it’s Ethics and Standards for not only the KJ but the Karaoke Company and the Karaoke Community.  

We invite you to our next meeting to see our new meeting format. We have restructured the meeting to better utilize time to improve on our member relationships and gain more knowledge about the Karaoke community by getting to know our Karaoke community.

The next meet of the DFW KJ Alliance will be Sunday, July 16, 2006. The meeting will start at 3:00p.m. The meeting will be held at the Yucatan Beach Club at 1850 Belt Line Road in Coppell. They have agreed to open early that day to accommodate our group. Food and all beverages will be available. 

Please bring plenty of business cards and/or company or event literature. We will be setting up our Members’ Box and will also have an area to display any other information.

New Officer Meeting Protocol-Stand Uniform:

*All Officers are required to meet at least one week prior to the day of the next meeting to make sure they are prepared and in agreement for all issues on the agenda.

*All Officers will arrive ONE hour prior to the official Alliance meeting to go over the agenda together.

*All Officers will sit together at one end of the meeting area.

*All Officers will attend a short wrap meeting directly following the scheduled Alliance meeting to prepare for the next quarter.

These new protocol measures are now in place to make sure all officers are in agreement with issues brought to the Alliance within the meeting.  It will help keep the full Alliance meeting flowing and in a professional order of business.  This also allows for extra time to be spent on important issues or nip non-essential issues in the bud before wasting the entire Alliance’s time during meetings. 

New Meeting Agenda Format:

*Introductions & Greetings- The Official reading of the DFW KJ Alliance Mission Statement & Agenda.  (During this time the printed agenda will be passed out to everyone.)

*Introduction of Officers- Each Officer will state their name, company, years in business, and what they will be covering in the meeting at the appropriate time in the agenda

*Attendee Introductions- In a clockwise order, each meeting attendee will stand and introduce their selves by stating their name, company, years in business, and if they are a member or a guest to the Alliance. (During this time the sign-in sheet, visitor cards, & business card rolodex will be passed around the table)

*Guest Speaker (s)- Listed prior in the written agenda, these guests or visiting guest will have the opportunity for a 20 minute presentation followed directly by a Q & A.

*Q&A: Questions for the guest speaker

*Treasury Report- Report current status and new business

*Ethics Report- Report current status and new business

*Event Team Report- Report current status and new business

*Website Report- Report current status and new business

*Hot Topics- Topics brought for open discussion prior to the meeting and printed in the agenda.

*New Business- Topics brought up at the meeting, not prior to the meeting and not in the agenda.

*Presidential Review- The President will recap the meeting and all voting results on any issues presented.  (During this time Membership Applications will be passed out.)

The DFW KJ ALLIANCE has quarterly mixers for the Alliance to meet the public.  Mixers are selected by drawing at the previous quarterly meeting for a regular karaoke show by attending members in good standing.  Our next Night Owl Social Club Mixer will be:

Support your fellow Alliance members by answering the Karaoke SOS call.  Simply visit member's shows that are in danger or slow and bring out some guests with you.  Karaoke SOS calls are only for shows in danger of being lost or dropped.  However, we do encourage everyone to visit member shows on their nights off from time to time too.  When you do, call other members to join you.
